MANILA, Philippines — Noontime show host Willie Revillame posted a P12,000 bail bond Tuesday a day after Quezon City prosecutors found probable cause to indict him for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the law protecting women and children from violence.
Accompanied by his lawyers, Willie appeared for the bail hearing Tuesday morning before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court branch 89.
The popular television host did not make a statement. His appearance would deem any further arrest order unnecessary.
His lawyer, Raymund Fortun, had indicated they would file a motion for review before the QC Prosecutor’s Office in 15 days.
Willie’s estranged wife, former beauty queen Flordelice “Liz” Almoro, filed the complaint last year. She alleged that Willie displayed violent behavior toward her and their son, Juan Emmanuel, and threatened he would hurt both of them.
This criminal case is apart from the annulment petition she also filed in October last year.
