MANILA, Philippines — Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero Pichay Jr. Sunday claimed receiving the commitment of leaders from Santiago City in Isabela province to support his campaign for a Senate seat.
In a statement, Pichay said the support became evident during the Pro Pinoy Caravan that passed through Santiago City during its tour of Northern Luzon.
Pichay said the support came as a result of him being an Ilocano.
Pichay, the statement said, recently registered his Pro Pinoy Movement at the Securities and Exchange Commission to serve as a vehicle for his legislative agenda of reviving nationalism and pride in Philippine products.

This is in response to the press conference made by the Team Unity early this morning. Spokesman Tonipet Albano insisted that the media is bias in reporting the status of the votes received by the opposition and their team.
– Filipinos, knows what is the best. Our eyes where opened. We do not want to be cheated again. Maconacon is only a coastal town where population is not as much as population of Tumauini, Cabagan, Ilagan and the rest. The results are proven, we do not want any tuta to be in… We want a change in the political system of our country…. We want to achieve to true freedom and the development of our country…
– If you have watched the GMA Network Isang Tanong, you can easily know who are the candidates that possesses love of our country and thinks of the best interest of the masses.
– Please do not accused any person with cheating, cheating which was started by your head… Remember she accepted her mistake…
– Please stop making black propaganda and strategies for we will not believe in the credibility of the statements you are uttering….
– Accept in your heart that your team has been defeated by the Opposition.
