CEBU CITY – A ranking leader of the administration party Team Unity revealed here late Wednesday that El Shaddai will support five candidates each from their ranks and the Genuine Opposition, as well as two independent senatorial aspirants.
“Bro. Mike is expected to make a very special announcement this weekend. El Shaddai will support a mix of five senatorial candidates in each of the two parties and two bets who are running as independents,” the source revealed.
Among the Team Unity bets who made it to the list are Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero Pichay, Bukidnon Rep. Juan Miguel Zubiri, former presidential chief of staff Mike Defensor and re-electionist Senators Joker Arroyo and Edgardo Angara.
The five Genuine Opposition candidates are Tarlac Rep. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, House Minority leader Francis Escudero, Senate President Manny Villar, re-electionist Sen. Panfilo Lacson and former Senate Majority Leader Loren Legarda.
The two independents are Senate Majority Leader Francis Pangilinan and former Sen. Gringo Honasan, who was recently allowed to post bail on the rebellion charges the government filed against him in connection with the July 2003 failed Oakwood mutiny. Delon Porcalla
